How to find your engine model and serial number
Locations may vary depending on the brand of equipment you own. Here is place to look for your model number and serial number.
RIDING MOWERS – Usually located on the underside of the seat.
WALK BEHIND MOWERS – Located on the back of the deck or the left rear.
STRING TRIMMERS – Look for a number sticker on the starter housing.
EDGERS – Located on the rear frame.
BLOWERS – Located on or around the starter assembly.

How do I identify a B & S engine?
The Model, Type, and Code numbers are stamped directly into the engine, usually these numbers are stamped directly into the blower housing, muffler heat shield, or a few inches above the spark plug. Depending on the style of engine shroud used, the engine numbers may be covered. It may be necessary to remove this shroud in order to locate the Model, Type, and Code.
